Human Service Consulting is a small consultancy of the most experienced child protection and OOHC Practitioners. We work with a wide variety of organisations involved in the delivery of welfare services to children and their families.

Our focus is to provide advice, information and support to help you do the best job you can for the children, young people and families you work with.

Human Service Consulting is currency assisting a range of organisations from across NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

Andrew is a Social Worker with Qualifications from University of NSW (BSW) and Monash University (MSW). In the past 9 years Andrew has been the CEO and General Manager of 2 Not for Profit organisations delivering services to children, families and people with a disability.

Assessment Work

• OOHC Accreditation: Over the past 5 years HSC has assisted 9 organisations achieve OOHC accreditation with the NSW Children’s Guardian. With the support of Human Service Consulting, many of these organizations have been able to ‘fast track’ the process, and achieve accreditation in less than 8 months.
• Tender Writing: Andrew has significant success in assisting organisations prepare tenders. Andrew’s expertise focus’s on the delivery of services to children, families and young people. Andrew has written many successful tenders for in the area of Community Housing / Homelessness, Early Intervention / Child Protection, Foster Care, Residential Care, Disability Services for children and Adults and Services for young people.
• Kinship Care Assessments: Assessing the capacity of family members to care for a child who is a member of their extended family. Over the course of the last 3 years HSC has completed more than 80 family assessments assisting FACS and the NSW Children’s Court to make informed decisions regarding the long term placement of children who cannot live with their parents.

Prior to this Andrew had 17 years experience in the NSW Department of Family and Community Services. Andrew has been the Principal Consultant with Human Service Consulting since January 2010.

Working for Comunity Organisations

• Adoption Assessments: Reviewing a child’s care arrangements and making recommendations as to the feasibility of adoption. This assessment involves the preparation of a detailed report for the Supreme Court.
• Child Protection Assessments: On occasions the NSW Children’s court will seek an independent review of a Child Protection matter that is before the court.

Fees, Insurance & Professional Affiliation

Andrew is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is ensured through their Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Schemes. Andrew’s Hourly fee is $132.00 per hour inclusive of GST.
